There are four important elements in Vibrant Gujarat Summit program as proposed and discussed by Team Norway. These include the following:
-Setting up of a Norwegian country pavilion.
-Organising a Norwegian Country session.
-Organising a networking dinner to facilitate interaction between Norwegian and Indian companies
-Setting up meetings with Gujarat CM, ministers and government officials.
About Norwegian country pavilion:
Norway is also setting up a country pavilion at the Global Trade Show. The Global Trade Show will be inaugurated on 9 Jan by PM Modi in the afternoon around 2pm.
The pavilion size is about 80 sq. metre (850sq. feet). 5 companies including DNV, Aker Solutions, Jotun, Kongsberg-Norcontrol and Equinor have already confirmed their participation. A couple of more companies can be still accommodated.
Total cost of setting up of Norway’s country pavilion will be around INR 725 plus GST; Norwegian Consulate General will fund INR 400,000 and rest will be shared by the companies. Based on the current estimates (based on participation of 5 companies), the participation fees for each company would be in the range of INR 65-70 thousand. The share goes down further in case more companies participate in the country pavilion.
About Norwegian country session:
Norwegian country session will be organised from 5:00-6:30pm on 10 Jan in association with ASSOCHAM. Norwegian companies have the opportunity to make company presentations and interact with their Indian counterparts during the country session. Topic and format of the country session is currently being discussed and finalised soon.
Please note: On 10 Jan. PM Modi will be inaugurating the Vibrant Gujarat Summit around 12:15pm. Prominent people like Mukesh Ambani, Adani and Mahindra will also be present at the inaugural ceremony with PM Modi.
Networking dinner:
Networking dinner is planned on 9 and 10 Jan in the evening in Ahmedabad collaboration with ASSOCHAM or other local business chambers. The venue and date of the networking dinner will be finalised soon.Meetings with Gujarat CM, ministers and government officials:
A meeting with Gujarat CM, trade minister, government officials such as chief secretary, energy secretary among others are requested. Norwegian Consulate General will be in touch with respective offices for the purpose. The requested/ proposed meeting is most likely possible on 11 Jan. based on the feedback received from VG organisers. Will keep everyone posted on this.
*From Jan 11-13, other thematic sessions will continue. The companies can visit VG website and identify relevant sessions and participate based on their area of interest.
