Ambassador Debraj Pradhan and a delegation from NICCI, the Research Council of Norway and Embassy of India, visited Bergens new innovation district.
A town of clusters, research, industry and the largest entreprenurial environment at the west coast of Norway. The delegation was impressed by the high consentration of important players in marine, maritime as well as oil and gas at Marineholmen in Bergen.
The group first got a brief on NCE The Seafood innovation cluster, prepared by Managing Director Tanja Hoel. Following that, a presentation of GCE Subsea by Gunnar Buvik. Finally, Hanne Sæle gave a brief on how the Technology transfer office in Bergen is connecting research based innovation and business. The visit ended by a short tour of the facilities, which includes several incubators and a Makerspace.
The delegation proceeded to the DNB offices just across Solheimsviken -where the group met representatives of both the management in DNB and the Indian tech-partners. The planned floor-walk was followed by a meeting with a surprisingly high number of Indians working on-site in in Bergen. The Ambassador took plenty of time to address the IT consultants.
