A big thank you to our corporate member Wipro/Designit for hosting the first NICCI member networking meeting in Oslo in 2024. Thanks to the speakers Matthias Peters, Helge Tryti, Inge Andersen, Morten Slungård, Pardis Shafaf and Vineet Jain.
The meeting kicked off with an engaging introduction by Matthias Peters, COO of Wipro Europe, followed by updates from NICCI Chairman, Helge Tryti.
A highlight of the meeting was “The Norway-India Business Story,” presented by Inge Andersen, Secretary General of the Norwegian Olympic Committee and former head of the Confederation of Sports. Andersen shared the captivating story of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s recent surprise visit to Senja, Norway. Accompanied by Morten Slungård, COO of Grønn Byggallianse, attendees were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the event, which had been widely covered by major Norwegian newspapers. Through photos and videos, we ventured “north of the ordinary,” also gaining insights into Andersen’s collaboration with Gurudev, their work with the World Forum for Ethics in Business, and Andersen’s extensive involvement in sports. It was indeed a Norway -India business story to remember.
The meeting proceeded with Dr. Pardis Shafaf’s insightful presentation on “Do No Harm – A Lens to Map Unintended Consequences and Deliver More Sustainable Outcomes.” The session concluded with moderator Vineet Jain emphasizing the significance of cross-cultural meetings between Norway and India, whether on snowshoes under the Nordic lights or at a NICCI networking event in either country.
Participants also enjoyed a tour of the Wipro/Designit office, where they were introduced to four key customer stories: DNB/Spare, Sporveien, Fjord Tours, and Speira (Hydro).
True to the spirit of NICCI member meetings, there was plenty of time for mingling, along with snacks and refreshments, providing a perfect opportunity to reconnect with old contacts and make new ones.
