A wide range of companies and public entities were represented at today’s seminar organized by Embassy of India and NICCI.
The half day- seminar with the topic “Invest in India” was organized today 6th December. The focus was on growth areas of the Indian economy, and opportunities for Norwegian companies wanting to invest in India.
Today’s venue was the Oslo office of our partner member, law firm Schjødt.
The event started with a welcome by Inger Roll-Matthiesen, Managing Director Schjødt, followed by an introduction to today’s topic by Tima Iyer Utne, Chair of the Board of NICCI.
In his keynote speech, Ambassador of India to Norway; H.E. Debraj Pradhan, gave an overview of growth areas in the Indian economy, the programs launched and future potential in sectors of specific interests to Norwegian businesses.
Svend Haakon Kristensen, Regional Director Asia, Innovation Norway focused on the perspective of Norwegian companies in his presentation: “India- an untapped market for Norwegian companies”.
Veeramani Jayaraman gave the audience insight in the Indian company; Larsen & Toubro’s smart city projects which encompass different areas of society.
Finally, Henrik Aarstad from Yara International’s strategy team, gave us a brief on their India success and insight in the ongoing process of the US 400 million acquisition of a TATA Chemicals plant.
The seminar ended with an Indian lunch hosted by Embassy of India, mingling and networking.
